The historical Genoese company A. Santamaria was recently acquired by Ortec Industriale, becoming Ortec Santamaria, a leading marine contractor specialized in electrical systems and industrial panels installation and worldwide recognized as a point of reference for electromechanical, electronic service and electrical engineering. The company is part of Genova Industrie Navali (GIN) Group one of the leading private players in the shipyard industry in the Mediterranean.
The Group, born in 2008 in Genoa (Italy) from two historic shipyards joining together, T. Mariotti and San Giorgio del Porto, has expanded over the years with operations in Marseille, France (Chantier Naval de Marseille) and Piombino, Italy (Piombino Industrie Marittime). GIN actually manages 4 Shipyards and 8 dry-docks, the largest of which measures 465 mt. length and 85 mt. width.
